Lukas Schärer, born in 1975, is experienced in leading, designing, building, transforming, and restructuring operations with broad international expertise in strategy execution, business process excellence, digitalization, and new technology, and has a strong background in procurement and business shared services.

Before joining Chain IQ, Lukas held several senior leadership positions with Holcim. Most recently, he was CEO of the European Business Service Center in Eastern Europe with responsibility to build, optimize, digitalize, and automatize financial, sales, and procurement services for Europe. He was also Chief Procurement Officer in Central Europe, establishing a strong procurement function as well as Marketing Manager in Europe and Managing Director in Russia. Before joining Holcim, Lukas was a partner of a management consulting firm focusing on digital business.

Lukas holds a Master of Science (MSc) in Engineering from the Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) Zurich and a post-graduate degree in Marketing and Management from the University of Lucerne. Additionally, he completed executive management programs at the University of St. Gallen (HSG), Ivey Business School, and IMD Business School.

He is married and has two children.
